Galatians – Truth of the Gospel | Week 7

What if the blessings of God in your life have nothing to do with how well you performed this week? That question sits at the heart of a profound journey through Galatians 3 and 4 that we get to explore together. The central revelation is this: God preached the gospel in advance to Abraham, 430 years before the law ever existed, precisely so that the blessing tied to that covenant would never be conditional on human behavior. The scripture, personified as a prophet, made sure the covenant was established before the law arrived, so no one could ever confuse blessing with legal obligation. Christ became a curse, using the exact same language the New Testament uses when it says he became sin for us, so that the blessing of Abraham might come upon us. Two exchanges happened at the cross: he became sin so we could receive righteousness, and he became a curse so we could receive blessing. Understanding both changes everything about how we read the Bible, how we pray, and how we see ourselves before God.
