Jesus Said – Week 3 – Tommy Carothers
This message challenges us to ask: are we trying to understand God or follow Him? Proverbs 3:5–7 reminds us to trust the Lord with all our hearts, not lean on our own understanding. The Greek system prized knowledge; the Hebrew way shaped character through relationship. Jesus didn’t say, “Understand me,” but “Follow me.”
We often know Scripture without transformation—quoting verses while our character stays the same. God calls us to become like our Rabbi, not just study His words. When faced with spiritual truths or life decisions, our minds resist what only trust can grasp.
Through prayer, fasting, and surrender, we learn to acknowledge God first. The Holy Spirit straightens our paths, grows patience and hope within us, and teaches us that following comes before understanding—and that real trust always changes us.
